The Gyre team is on the line!

While studying user cases, we noticed a pattern: the effectiveness of continuous streaming for the channel is increasing. By consistently launching 24/7 streams for over three months, authors have seen up to a 30% increase in all key channel metrics, including:

  • Growth in the number of views and subscribers
  • Longer viewer retention times — 24/7 streams are watched for longer durations, which is a strong positive signal for YouTube algorithms
  • Increased watch time and CPM
We hypothesize that this is due to YouTube's algorithms. The platform takes time to re-rank your channel's content and raise it in search results and recommendations.

Continuous streaming has set a strategically important trend: your content is being watched for longer periods and by more viewers. As a result, the platform perceives your content as an effective platform for advertising.

How do regular releases affect a YouTube channel?

Today, we will focus on the case of the entertainment channel. The creator publishes at least one new video weekly and has accumulated 346 videos on the channel. They keep the channel active, generating more views and watch time.

Look at the channel's performance over the past 90 days and the results the entire volume of content published on the channel has yielded.

Considering 14 new releases during the selected period, all 346 videos have gained over 20 million views. It is a good indicator, given the subscription rate of 2.85 out of 1000 views.

It is essential: we cannot solely consider the effectiveness of new releases over the selected period. The channel's statistics for the past 90 days are based on all 346 videos. In other words, on average, one regular video on the channel generated approximately 58,000 views in 3 months.

Other important metrics are also fine:

  • The  RPM of the video is $0.41.
  • Watch time — more than half a million hours.
  • Additionally, +50K subscribers.

In 3 months, regular videos brought the channel's author $8248.49.

The only significant concern is the viewer retention rate.

Unfortunately, even with regular posts and a large viewership, the average view duration on videos is only 1 minute and 40 seconds.

How can you boost a YouTube channel with 24/7 streams?

The channel creator decided not to limit himself to releasing only regular videos and added Gyre continuous streams to his content strategy.

Within three months, he launched 95 streams, which strongly support each release 24/7. As a result, he got the expected improvement in all metrics regarding live content and, on average, across the channel.

Gyre's continuous streams attracted almost 10 million new views, 32.3% of the total on the channel — 30,4 million.

So, once again:

  • 95 streams brought in 10 million views.
  • And x4 number of regular videos received 20 million views.

The RPM of the 24/7 streams was two times higher than the video and amounted to $0.87. It, in turn, generated 50.9% of the channel's revenue, or $8569,04.

A quarter of the number of continuous streams generated half of the channel's revenue.

You can even use content published on the channel in Gyre's continuous streams. Since you do not store the stream on the channel but only broadcast it with Gyre’s help, YouTube does not consider it a duplication of content.

Additionally, Gyre's continuous streams attracted 30,187 new subscribers, which accounts for 28.5% of the total number on the channel in the past 90 days. Moreover, the engagement rate of subscribers is also higher at 3.07.

And the icing on the cake is the average view duration, which was a concern for us with regular videos.

Just imagine that the viewer retention rate on 24/7 live streams has increased six times, 10 minutes and 38 seconds!

Given the commitment of video platforms to live content, Gyre's continuous streams highlight a successful content strategy. Channel metrics and your revenue grow; you always have a plan B in case of a release pause. Should you give up on a win-win offer?
